Owego defeated Waverly in girls basketball 48 – 34 in a Class A quarterfinal at Owego.
Waverly started strong leading 15 – 10 after the first quarter and 22 – 21 at the half.
Owego came on strong in the second half, forcing 22 Waverly turnovers.
Brittany Rando led OFA with 16 points; she reached 1000 career points during the game.
Courtney Melia had 12 points, and Rached Merrill added 10 point and 19 rebounds in a terrific effort.
The semifinal game is Friday against Norwich at 7:45PM.
Owego now has 14 wins and 5 losses for the season.
