Historical Society Exhibitions Underway for Tioga County Clocks, Art Show

This spring, The Tioga County Historical Society will present an exhibit of rare early clocks that will feature more than a dozen clocks assembled in Tioga County between 1830 and 1850.
The exhibit will be titled “Time and Tines” and will also include silverware that was made in Tioga County before the Civil War.
The exhibition opened March 5th and will continue into August.
Also underway is the United Way Art Show from March 15th to March 26th for grades K – 5 and April 9th to May 7th for grades 6-12.
A reception will be held on March 16th from 5-7pm for grades K – 5, and on April 20th – 5pm – 7pm for grades 6-12.
Upcoming Programs are:
April 16th – 1-3pm – Spring Time Crafts at the Museum (free for children)
May 7th – 12- 4pm – Fiber Spinning – see how wool is spun and dyed in this informative session taught by Lesley McClelland of Rampart’s Edge Farm and Fiber Studio (Free admission)
May 21st – 1- 4pm – Workshop about Flint napping and 3 Sisters (corn, bean, squash) in affiliation with Preserve America Grant and Cornell Cooperative Extension.
The Tioga County Historical Society Museum is at 110 Front Street in Owego.
The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
