Jim Raftis Sr. Named The Tioga County Distinguished Citizen

Jim Raftis Sr. has been named the recipient of the Tioga County Distinguished Citizen Award..  The award is given on behalf of the Baden-Powell Council Boy Scouts of America.  The announcement was made on The WEBO Morning Show.  Raftis is a lifelong resident of Owego and has been instrumental in Little League where he serves as the Public Relations Director and his grandfather Nick Raftis developed the first Owego Little League Baseball Field.   Jim Raftis Sr also originated the Roll Call of Veterans who are buried in Tioga County, he mentors OFA students and has been a volunteer broadcaster for 35 years, 30 of which were on WEBO.  Paul Mittan who is the Committee Chair for the Tioga County Distinguished Citizen Award Dinner explained when and where the ceremony will be held to honor Raftis.
