Lockheed Martin in Owego delivered the 24th and final MH-60R Seahawk helicopter to the Royal Australian Navy this week. The milestone delivery took place during a ceremony on Wednesday, which was attended by leaders from both the US Navy and their counterparts from Australia, along with representatives from Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky Aircraft. Australia chose the MH-60R helicopters in June 2011 to replace their existing helicopter fleet, marking the first international sale of the helicopter by the US Navy. The MH-60R’s primary mission is anti-submarine warfare, but it is also equipped for search and rescue, personnel transport, and other missions. Most of the vehicles were worked on and tested at Lockheed’s facility in Owego.
