Lockheed Martin in Owego has been awarded $66 million in new contracts from the US Navy. The money will be used to create and deliver upgraded radar kits for the Navy’s helicopters and also integrate advanced warfare electronic technology, according to Senator Charles Schumer’s office. The helicopters that will be upgraded are used for anti-submarine warfare, search-and-rescue and medical evacuations among other duties. All of the work will be done at the Lockheed facility in Owego and will be completed by 2020.
