The man who took his daughter after a domestic dispute Sunday was found later that day and taken into custody without incident, according to the Broome County Sheriff’s Office.
43-year-old Robert Howard, Jr. forcibly took his 8-year-old daughter from a residence on Oakdale Road in Johnson City around 2:30pm.
After several hours of looking for the two, Tioga County Sheriff’s Deputies found them at a motel in the Town of Owego around 11:30pm.
Howard was taken to the Broome County Jail on charges of harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say his daughter was turned over to a family friend.
