Residents were told to evacuate their home when a nearby garage went up in flames. A garage fire broke out on Saturday night at a Lisle Road home in Owego around 8 p.m.. Three fire companies responded to the blaze. According to officials at the scene, it took firefighters just over an hour to get the fire under control. The cause of the fire was a battery charger being fed by an extension cord. There were no injuries.
