Owego Free Academy will celebrate two Division I athletic signings this week. Both signings will occur in the main lobby at Owego Free Academy. At 2:30 this afternoon, senior Rachel Merrill will sign a national letter of intent to play basketball at the University of Vermont, while tomorrow at 2:30, senior Tyler Ford will sign a national letter of intent to play lacrosse at Syracuse University.
Merrill, the daughter of Darren and Cindy Merrill, will join a rebuilding program at Vermont, playing in the America East Conference.
Ford is the son of Rick and Glenda Ford, and will join a strong Orange lacrosse squad that was national champion in 2009 and last spring lost to Duke in the national title match. Syracuse is now a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Thursday from 4:30 p.m. to the end of their Sheppard’s Supper
First Sunday of the month from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
So a lot of good this church is doing and what better way to launch this extension than for the holiday season when a lot of people need it most.
They are looking for blankets and children’s winter jackets, those are some items that are in demand right now and like we mentioned earlier you can drop all donations off at the back of the church 24/7.
