The Thrift Store part of the Open Door Mission in Owego reopened today. The mission was hit by flooding water after last week’s storm. The outreach, shelter and food pantry however, will remain closed for the next 2 weeks as the staff and volunteers have to clean up the damage from all of the water. Donna Jantz from the Open Door Mission explains what will happen for those who need and use the services of the Open Door Mission.

Jantz added that the reason it will take so long is they have to go through and move all of the equipment and appliances and cleanup the mud and the water and get food back on the shelves for the food pantry and still need help from the community. To find out how you can help you can call 687-1121.
