Organizers are calling this year’s Lights on the River Festival a success.
Over 1,000 people were in downtown Owego for Friday night’s festival, which featured Santa Claus, live music and other events. Downtown shops and restaurants stayed open late for the festival, which started in 2006.
The village’s special holiday lights were turned on together at 6pm and the festival ended with fireworks from Draper Park at 8pm.
Also part of the festival was the annual O’Tannenbaum Holiday Showcase at the Tioga County Historical Society and Museum on Front Street.
