Owego Cancels Special Meeting

The Village of Owego canceled Monday’s special meeting due to a medical emergency.
Trustees were expected to vote on a deal to sell the village’s treated water to a natural gas drilling company. Clerk/Treasurer Rodney Marchewka says that vote will now be made at the board’s next regular meeting, which is scheduled for 7pm on Dec. 20 at the village Department of Public Works on Elm Street.
Inflection Energy wants to purchase 200,000 gallons a day of treated water from the village’s wastewater treatment facility. It could mean as much as $36.5 million in revenues for the village over the next 10 years.
Trustees held over a vote last week on the agreement to investigate resident complaints.
