The Owego Citizens Party will host a “Candidate Meet and Greet” at the Owego Elks Lodge on Front Street, Sunday, March 6th from 3 to 5 PM.
All are encouraged meet the candidates and enjoy hors d’oeuvres.
“The first priority of any elected official is to their constituents,” said 2nd Ward Trustee Candidate Earl Hartman. “My fellow candidates and I believe the people’s voices should be sought and heard on issues that concern the Village’s overall welfare and this meet and greet is an avenue to do that.”
Citizens Party candidates for the March 15th Village of Owego elections are Jon Boland for 1st Ward Trustee, Earl Hartman and Jim Legursky for 2nd Ward Trustees, and Doug Worden for 3rd Ward Trustee.
Worden added, “We need to collectively bring as many people as possible into the decision making process so everyone’s voices are heard in our government.”
The Citizens Party has drafted a platform to address the many issues facing the Village to include accountability in government, fiscal responsibility, support of volunteers in the community, and focusing on “Smart Growth” economic policies.
The platform will be available at the meet and greet.
Village of Owego elections are Tuesday, March 15th from Noon till 9 PM at Owego Central Fire Station on North Avenue.
