Owego CVS Robber Sentenced to Fifteen Years

On Friday, convicted sex offender John Malowsky of Attica was sentenced to 15 years in state prison and five years of post release supervision. In May, he pleaded guilty to robbery in the first degree. According to the Tioga County District Attorney’s office, the robbery occurred on Feb. 27th, 2013 when Malowsky used a butcher knife to forcibly steal money and hydrocodone from the CVS Pharmacy in Owego. After further investigation, it was determined Malowsky was also responsible for robberies in Vestal, Corning, Big Flats and Batavia.
