The Owego Little League celebrated the start of their 51st season in Owego on Saturday. The day began with a parade from the Owego Police Station to Hyde Park with hundreds of players participating. Players, coaches and families marched right onto Nick Raftis Field where an opening day ceremony took place with local dignitaries and league officials. The program is, and has always been free for all players to participate. This year is no different. All of the kids in attendance got free hot dogs courtesy of the Owego VFW, and the Owego Fire Department Company #3 raised money for the league with a chicken barbeque.
