With the Owego Strawberry Festival set to kick off tonight, the Chief of the Owego Police Department, Karen Vinti, would like to remind festival attendees that certain streets will be closed and detours will be in place. For tonight’s fireworks display, both Lake and Front Street, between Church and Court Street, will be closed from 4 to 11 PM. No on-street parking will be permitted in that area. Additional street closings and detours will be taking place tomorrow starting at 5 in the morning and continuing throughout the day. Tomorrow is the day of the annual parade. If you are traveling through the Owego area, you should seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
