Owego Women Accused of Stealing from Mello-Dears Hall

Two Owego women are facing charges after police say they broke into a local business and stole $3,000 in cash.
On Nov. 20, Owego Police say 22-year-old Samantha Vanderkarr and 18-year-old Victoria Middleton allegedly entered the Mello-Dears Hall on Central Ave. and stole the money from an unlocked safe.
The women are accused of using the stolen cash to purchase several items including jewelry and cell phones. Police were unable to recover any of the stolen money.
Both women were released after they were arraigned on felony burglary charges. They live on Spencer Ave.
Police say they are still investigating and more arrests could be on the way.
