Strawberry Festival organizers and the Tioga County Chamber of Commerce are getting ready to cut the ribbon for the 43rd annual event.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. Thursday on the Tioga County Courthouse steps, ushering in a weekend full of fun, music, activities, and sweet strawberry treats.
The Strawberry Festival kicks off in Hickories Park with the Rock and Run 5K Thursday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. There will be food and beverage vendors, a kids fun run, and a DJ providing music from under the bandshell.
The festival continues Friday with a block party in downtown Owego, starting at 5 p.m., with food, vendors, live music, capped off with a fireworks display around 9:30 p.m.
Saturday’s activities kick off with a parade through the downtown at 9:30 a.m. followed by a variety of entertainment, food, a kids’ courtyard, vendors, and more.
