Summer officially arrived in the Southern Tier Saturday as thousands packed the streets of downtown Owego for the 31st Annual Strawberry Festival. The crowds lined up for their favorite treats and visited vendors on North Avenue, Main Street, Lake Street, and Front Street. News Radio WEBO broadcast the Strawberry Festival parade live Saturday, at 10 AM from high atop a Beck’s Towing flatbed truck at the corner of Front and Court Streets. Over 20,000 people visited Owego Saturday. The event is held every third weekend in June.
