Three Owego Residents Arrested On Narcotics Charges

The New York State Police and the Owego Police Department have arrested three Village of Owego residents following a narcotics search of their second floor apartment at 88 S. Depot Street in Owego.

Arrested were 38-year-old William Bish, 28-year-old Michael J. McCarty, and 23-year-old James M. Sauer. McCarty was charged with felony Possession of a Controlled Substance, felony Criminal Nuisance, as well as multiple misdemeanors. Bish and Sauer were charged with felony Criminal Nuisance and several misdemeanors.

Shortly before 7 a.m. on Thursday, the New York State Police, the Owego Police Department, the Endicott Police Department, and the Vestal Police Department, executed a search warrant at the residence. The search of the residence resulted in the seizure of heroin, scales, packaging materials, and hypodermic needles.

The investigation determined that the men were using the residence as a location for area residents to purchase and ingest heroin.

McCarty, Bish and Sauer were arraigned before the Village of Owego Court. Bish was remanded to Tioga County Jail with no bail. McCarty and Sauer were remanded to the Tioga County Jail in lieu of $50,000 cash/$100,000 bond.
