A Tioga County Legislator has died. District 5 representative Raymond Case passed away this week at the age of 68 after an illness. Case was first appointed to the legislature in 2012 to fill an open seat and just won re-election for a new term last month. District 5 includes Waverly and the Town of Barton.
The Chair of the Tioga County Legislature, Martha Sauerbrey, sent out a statement from the entire legislature. It reads: “Ray was an outstanding legislator and advocate for the county. We pass on our thoughts and prayers to the family and to the community to which Ray represented.”
His services will be handled by the Estey, Munroe, and Fahey Funeral Home in Owego. The obituary will be posted on the funeral home’s website at www.emfaheyfuneralhome.com.
