More information has been released on the robbery that took place in Owego last night.
Police responded to the CVS Pharmacy at the corner of Main and Park Streets in Owego around 7:30 last night.
As the first deputy arrived on scene, a man matching the description of the suspect was leaving the store carrying a bag. The suspect failed to respond to the Sheriff’s Deputies’ order. That’s when a second deputy arrived on scene, and the man threaten both deputies with a knife.
The suspect then fled on foot, but was apprehended by three Sheriff’s Deputies and an Owego Police Officer in front of Johns Fine Foods, at the corner of Temple Street and North Avenue.
The man, 62-year-old John Malowsky from Attica, had to be transported by ambulance to Wilson Hospital for treatment of injuries he sustained during his arrest. No one else was injured.
Sheriff’s Investigator Pat Hogan has also determined that Malowsky may also be responsible for robberies committed earlier this week in Corning, Big Flats, and Batavia.
