A special ceremony at noon tomorrow at the Veterans Memorial at Court House Square in Owego will kick off a very special undertaking in our area. Wreaths Across America has a mission of placing a wreath on every veteran’s grave this holiday season. Locally, this effort is being taken on by several veteran’s organizations, including the Honor Guard of the Glenn A Warner VFW Post 1371, and the Gold Star Mothers and Families. There is said to be about 5,000 veterans in over 100 cemeteries in Tioga County alone. The local Wreaths Across America effort this year has also expanded to Northern Bradford and Northern Susquehanna Counties as well. Tomorrow’s ceremony will feature a special invocation and benediction by Reverend Terry Steenburg.
