Power has been restored to NYSEG customers in Tioga County who found themselves without electricity this morning. Just after six o’clock, a 115,000 volt high tension power line was down near the 1700 block of Montrose Turnpike. The Southside Fire Department is assisting with NYSEG at the scene. A NYSEG supervisor estimated that the repairs to the line itself would take 6 to 8 hours, and they will be keeping the road closed until the repairs have been made. Over 3,200 customers were affected by the outages. Tioga Central School District had to be put on a 2-hour delay this morning due to the outages. Power was restored shortly after 8 o’clock.
