The Town of Nichols is considering a major change when it comes to the town clerk and highway supervisor positions.
The town is looking into changing those positions from elected to appointed.
The first step is a public meeting which will be held tonight at 6 p.m. at the Nichols Town Building, located at 139 Roki Boulevard.
In order for this change to be made, the town would also have to pass a local law and organize a full mandatory referendum, which would then be sent to the voters.
