On Tuesday at approximately 7:55 AM, the Tioga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a three-car motor vehicle collision on State Route 79 near Michigan Hill Road in the Town of Richford. A vehicle travelling east on State Route 79 crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a vehicle travelling west and then struck another west bound vehicle head on.
The drivers of the two vehicles that were struck head on were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. A portion of State Route 79 was closed to traffic for approximately two hours because of the collision.
The incident is still under investigation and traffic tickets are pending at this time. The Sheriff’s
Office was assisted at the scene by the Richford Fire Department and Maine EMS.
