Officials have released more information about the house fire that happened in Richford on Tuesday. A child was killed in the fire that destroyed the home at 9266 West Creek Road. It was owned by William and Leanna Hulse, and the couple lived with their three children, 6-year-old Haley, 2-year-old Isabella, and 4-year-old Trent. The house was fully involved in fire when firefighters were called to the scene around 12:30 Tuesday. Trent was unable to be rescued from the burning building. He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Tioga County Coroner. Crews had to battle strong winds and freezing conditions as they put out the fire. An hour after the fire was first called in, little of the house remained and all that could be seen was the frame and parts of the roof. The house is a total loss. Firefighters from Richford, Berkshire, Newark Valley, Slaterville Springs, and Speedsville were all called to the scene. Investigators have not yet released the cause of the fire.
