The Tioga County Veterans Service Agency will holds its 5th annual Ruck for Them 5K this weekend in Waverly.
The annual event will be held on Saturday at the Waverly Glen Park. Check in and breakfast is set for 9 a.m. with the Ruck for Them 5K starting at 10 and a day of BBQ, live music and fun beginning at 11.
The event is designed to raise awareness about veteran and military suicide. Participants will wear a ruck or backpack with 22 pounds of weight to represent the 22 veterans and military members lost to suicide each day.
Local organizations will be on hand during the event to provide information on mental health resources.
