Tioga County Legislative Chair Marte Sauerbrey has declared a STATE OF EMERGENCY effective at 8:30 PM August 14 2018 for Tioga County due to the ongoing rain event.

Tioga County Director of Emergency Services Michael Simmons and Tioga County Sheriff Gary W. Howard advise no unnecessary travel until further notice due to flooded roadways and in some cases debris and washed out areas. Travel is not prohibited but it is strongly advised to avoid unnecessary travel so the road crews can make necessary repairs to the roads that have been affected.
