The Strawberry Festival gets underway tonight in Owego, and several streets in the village of Owego will be closed for the event. Lake and Front streets, between Church and North streets, will be closed from 4 to 11pm today. Lake Street will be closed to vehicle traffic at 3pm. And starting at 1 there will be no street parking allowed in the area. The streets will be closed on Saturday beginning at 5am. Detours and traffic patterns will be in place during that time.
Parking and a shuttle bus service will be available all day Saturday. Festival parking begins at 7:30 a.m. with shuttle service beginning at 8 am. Shuttle parking is available at Hickories Park and Marvin Park. Vendor shuttle and parking is available at 6 am at Marvin Park.
