Three people were killed in a two-car crash on State Route 34 in Barton on Friday.
According to police, the accident occurred shortly before 1:30 p.m. when a woman driving a SUV north on 34 with three passengers crossed into the opposite lane of traffic and hit an oncoming pick-up truck head on.
The driver of the truck, a 68-year-old man from Athens, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two of the passengers of the SUV, a 41-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman from the Bronx, were also killed in the accident.
Both passengers were in the back seat at the time of the crash.
The driver of the SUV, a 42-year-old woman from the Bronx was taken to the Robert Packer Hospital in critical condition. Another passenger, a 56-year-old man from the Bronx, was taken to the hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have not released the names of the victims at this time.
The New York State Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
