The Tioga County legislature approved their 2014 budget unanimously in Owego Tuesday night.
The budget totals around $70 million – a few million less than last year. The budget calls for an improved IT structure which would make county government seamless and more transparent so taxpayers can access information easily. They also added a $10 million bond to build new bridges. One of the challenges in creating the budget was staying under the 1.66 percent tax cap.
