Tioga County District Attorney Kirk Martin was a special guest on the WEBO Morning Show today. He said his office has been busy fighting the drug epidemic, especially heroin and methamphetamine use in the county. “We try to classify people, are you primarily an addict or primarily a dealer,” Martin said on WEBO. “If you’re a dealer, you’re going to get a state prison sentence. If you’re an addict, you will probably get the opportunity to participate in drug treatment court. We want people to come back into society and be productive members.”
If you know someone who has a problem, Martin says the best thing to do is call the police. “Because that’s where the resources are right now, and if someone needs help, we can get them help.”
