Tuesday's Primary Election Results

The results are in from yesterday’s primary races. For Tioga County District Attorney, Kirk Martin won the Republican nod with 38% of the vote. Adam Schumacher came in a close second with 35%. Acting District Attorney Irene Graven rounded out the vote with 26%.
For town council in Candor, George Williams led the race with 40% of the vote, Matthew Crowe had 31%, and Jennifer Bennett had 29%.
For town council in Nichols, Bill Middleton had 40% of the voters, Ray Thetja (Thet-ga) had 33%, and William Caloroso had 26%.
Mark Clark had 852 votes for Town of Owego Highway Superintendent, defeating Gregory Champaign.
Richford’s Michael Holt defeated Michael Hunt for the Republican nod to compete for Town Highway Superintendent in November.
In Broome County, Rich David won the Republican nod for Mayor with 60% voter support, while Douglas Drazen trailed with 28%, and Ed Hickey garnered only 10%.
In Chemung County, Sheriff Christopher Moss held off republican competitor Arthur Laurey with 82% of the vote.
Winners of these party primaries will go on to the general election on November 5th.
