The Tioga Central School District has set the tax rate hikes for each municipality in its district. While the overall tax levy for the district was set at 7.63% in this year’s approved budget, the actual tax increase seen by residents will vary by municipality due to New York’s equalization rate.
Residents will see a true tax increase of 5.38% in the Town of Tioga, 6.24% in the Town of Nichols, 12.46% in the Town of Barton, and 6.83% in the Town of Candor.
