Tioga Deputies Make Arrests for Assault and DWI

A disturbance call in the town of Owego led to the arrest of a 47-year-old man. Tioga County deputies said they took James Baker of Owego into custody. He was charged with 3rd degree assault. Baker was arraigned in Town of Nichols Court and was initially remanded to the Tioga County jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond. He’ll appear in Owego court at a later date.

 

 

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office continues to crack down of impair drivers. Deputies say they arrested 28-year-old Sadie Weckel of Mill Street in Binghamton. She was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign, Moving from Lane Unsafely and Failed to Keep Right. These charges resulted from a vehicle stop on Taylor Road in the Town of Owego. Weckel was issued appearance tickets to appear in Owego court next week.
