It was a successful opening weekend at Tioga Downs. The racing opened its 2011 racing season Saturday, in conjunction with the Kentucky Derby. Horse owners, drivers and trainers from all over the northeast came to Nichols to compete and over 11,000 fans were in attendance on Saturday for 9 races. Harness racing continued Sunday, celebrating Mother’s Day, with a 13-race schedule, and live broadcast from WEBO. With the 2011 racing season underway, Tioga Downs races every Friday and Saturday beginning at 6:50 PM, and Sunday’s post-time is 1:30. They are also open daily at 10 AM with over 700 video lottery terminals.
