After four months of construction, the preliminary framework for the multi-million dollar expansion to full casino gaming at Tioga Downs is nearly complete. A ceremony was held yesterday before the final steel beam was lifted into place.
“This is just one more step in the progression to having this casino open for business,” Tioga Downs Owner Jeff Gural said yesterday. “We are on schedule and I really look forward to seeing this place open this summer.”
Gural and other local dignitaries signed the steel beam before it was placed at the top of the new structure. Not only is Gural excited about the casino opening up in the summer, he says jobs are coming soon.
“We’re going to start training dealers, we’ve got a job fair at the end of March, and then we have the racing job fair. Over the next couple of months, we should be able to put 300 to 400 people to work.”
Photos and video of the ceremony are available on the WEBO Facebook Page.
