On August 27, at approximately 10:05 a.m., New York State Police at Owego arrested Michael T. Cole, age 42 of Apalachin, for the misdemeanors of Menacing in the second degree, Criminal Obstruction of Breathing,and Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Troopers were dispatched to a reported domestic dispute involving a shotgun on Cooper Drive in the Town of Owego. A victim told troopers that Cole pointed a shotgun at the victim and choked the victim while in the presence of a child.
Both the child and victim were able to escape the home. Troopers made contact with Cole who was still inside the residence with the shotgun. He came out of the residence and was taken into custody then evaluated at Wilson Hospital.
After he was discharged from the hospital, Cole was processed and arraigned in the Town of Owego Court and was remanded to the Tioga County jail on $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond.
