On May 24 at approximately 5:56 p.m., New York State Police at Owego were dispatched to an unresponsive woman at a residence on Valley View Drive in the town of Owego. An investigation revealed the woman fell down a flight of stairs in her residence. She was identified by State Police as Rossilene F. Thomas, age 55. Lifesaving measures were performed and were unsuccessful, police said.
An autopsy performed at Lourdes Memorial Hospital in Binghamton revealed Thomas suffered injuries that are consistent with a fall down stairs.
Her online obituary said Thomas, a native of Porto Alegre do Sul Rio Grande City, Brazil, and she was religious education director at Vestal United Methodist Church.
