Two people facing drug charges following traffic stop in Nichols

The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of two individuals on drug charges following a traffic stop.

On Wednesday, February 28, 42-year-old Shalena E. Hill of Johnson City and 38-year-old Christopher R. Starchok of Endicott were stopped on State Route 17 in the Town of Nichols.

Following an investigation, Hill and Starchok were allegedly found to be in possession of a quantity of suspected heroin and methamphetamine along with scales, packaging materials and other paraphernalia associated with the distribution of controlled substances.

Both suspects were charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree – intent to sell narcotic drug, a Class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the fourth degree, a Class C felony, and other related misdemeanor charges.

They were arraigned in Tioga County CAP Court and released pending further proceedings.
