Ithaca Police have arrested a 33-year-old Uber driver following an alleged sexual assault that occurred last month.
According to police, Eddeen M. Mikki, of Syracuse, has been charged with sexual abuse in the first degree, a Class D felony.
Ithaca Police responded to a report of sex abuse on May 24th. The victim reported that after getting into an Uber-affiliated vehicle, the Uber driver drove to a nearby location and parked. The driver got into the backseat of the vehicle and allegedly pinned the victim down and began forcibly touching the victim.
The victim was able to escape the vehicle and run away to call for help.
The suspect was arraigned in Ithaca City Court and ordered to appear at a later date.
