The Tioga County Sheriff’s Office investigated a one car fatal motor vehicle accident occurring on March 19th at approximately 8:00 PM.
A 1997 Ford Taurus was driving southbound on Nelson Rd. in the Town of Barton.
The vehicle slid on the pavement going off the east side of the roadway striking a tree on the right front passenger door.
The operator of the vehicle was a 14 year old male.
He was transported to the Robert Packer Hospital.
Dillon Bostwick, age 14, was pronounced dead at the scene by coroner William Siebert.
He was seated in the front right seat.
A 14 year old female was the back seat passenger.
She was extricated at the scene and transported to the Robert Packer Hospital.
The investigation is continuing.
Assisting at the scene was the Lockwood Fire Department, Waverly Barton Fire Department and Greater Valley EMS.
