The Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Van Etten man after he allegedly threatened deputies and rammed his truck into a police vehicle last Thursday night.

According to police, 26-year-old Gregory D. Edwards was charged with third-degree criminal mischief, a Class E felony, and misdemeanor counts of reckless endangerment and criminal trespass.

Deputies responded to the 700 block of Five Mile Drive in the Town of Ithaca for a call about Edwards allegedly trespassing.

Police said Edwards backed into their vehicle and his Ford F150 ended up on their hood. The suspect then got out of the truck and threatened deputies, who were able to arrest him after de-escalating the situation.

Edwards was taken to the Tompkins County Jail to await arraignment.
