The VFW in Owego has recently received a handicapped-accessible van and would like to give it to a disabled veteran in Tioga County to use.
“They can keep it as long as they need it, and when they don’t need it anymore, then they can give it back and we will give it to another veteran,” said Danielle Ingraham, a member of the VFW Ritual Team. “When they gave (the van) to us, they stipulated that it had to be a veteran in Tioga County.”
The VFW will keep ownership of the vehicle, which contains a wheelchair lift. If you know of someone who can use the van, please call the VFW at 607-687-1371 and talk to Dave Bensley.
