The Village of Owego will be picking up Christmas trees and using them to help the community.
According to Owego Mayor Mike Baratta, the village will collect undecorated trees from curbs in the village.
The trees will be turned into wood chips and mulch to be used at local parks and trails.
The Department of Public Works will be around to pick up trees throughout this week, except on New Year’s Day.
