Waverly CSD budget proposal blocked by 13 votes

The Waverly Central School District says it was 13 votes shy of passing its second budget proposal. The proposal needed 60% voter approval, and it only received 57%. The Waverly School District will now be forced to go to its contingency budget for the coming school year. By law, the district will only be allowed to perform maintenance that is absolutely necessary, and must refrain from purchasing student supplies. The district must also charge for use of its facilities. Waverly School District’s first budget proposal was also voted down, on May 17th.
