Waverly Police responded to a fire with injuries reported on Sunday. The fire took place at the Sister’s Family Restaurant at 2 North Chemung Street, and upon arrival, police found a female suffering severe burns lying on the ground outside the restaurant . The woman had suffered obvious burns to her face, stomach area, and extremities. She was treated at the scene and transported by the Greater Valley EMS to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre. The fire was found to have started in the kitchen area of the restaurant and the Tioga County Fire Investigation Team was called to the scene to investigate the exact cause. At this time they are saying the cause was accidental. The Waverly-Barton Fire Department also responded to the fire.
