A man from Waverly was arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle and crashing it into two police cars. Authorities say that 43-year-old Steven Stubbs of Waverly stole a woman’s vehicle after leaving a bar in Towanda. Two patrol cars responded to the report and were able to locate the vehicle on Main Street in Towanda with the help of witness identification. One patrol car parked in front of the stolen Saturn and the other behind it in an attempt to block the driver from fleeing. Stubbs put the stolen vehicle in reverse, however, crashing into the first patrol car and then attempted to drive forward, crashing into the second. A taser then needed to be used to temporarily disable Stubbs to safely arrest him. Stubbs has since been arraigned and sent to the Bradford County Jail on $75,000 bail.
