It was a big weekend for the Waverly track and field squad as the Wolverines brought home multiple gold medals from the New York state championships.
On Friday, the 4X100 relay team of Ralph Johnson, Micah Chandler, Xavier Watson and Kolsen Keathley won a state title with a time of 42.47 seconds.
Johnson overcame a false start disqualification in the 100 meter finals to win both the New York State Division II and Federation state championships in the 200 meters.
He ran a time of 21.52 seconds in the Division II race to claim gold before going 21.64 in the federation race to bring home another state title to Waverly.
