Waverly-Barton Firefighters responded to a blaze at The Rail House on Broad Street in Waverly Saturday morning. It was called in at 7 AM. Restaurant owners say damage was contained to the back porch of the building and did not affect the bar, restaurant or apartments upstairs. Fire officials believe it may have been caused by a cigarette butt. The restaurant was closed all weekend and remains closed today. They hope to reopen tomorrow. No one was injured. The owners are thanking emergency responders for their quick response, and crediting their tenants that called in the fire with saving the Rail House.
